IFISH6 Frequently Asked Questions

The IFISH 6 Planning Committee is looking forward to seeing you all in Rome, which is now only a month away! In preparation for the event, we have drafted a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help you plan for your trip. Information on FAO headquarters can be found here.

If you have questions that have not been answered below, please send these to the planning committee in the next two weeks. Planning Committee members will be taking off time for winter holidays at the end of  December, so please be proactive and let us know by December 21st if you have any additional questions.

IFISH 6 Presenter FAQs

Q: What is the address for FAO Headquarters?
A: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, 00153 Rome, Italy

Q: What are the dates of the IFISH 6 Conference?
A: The conference is from the 8th to the 12th of January, 2024

Q: How do I share my presentation for oral presentations, sessions, panels, etc…?
A: These should be emailed to FAO, indicating the presentation title, name of the main presenter, and the location of the presentation (Red room, Mexico room, Lebanon room) by December 15th. If you are having difficulty emailing your presentation, you can upload it here. If you would like to bring a backup on your USB drive, please feel free to do so.

Q: How do I share my poster presentation?
A: Bring these with you (do not send them in advance). You can print these on poster paper or on fabric.
Details on size specifications and formatting were shared in the email to presenters sent on October 20th, with the subject line “IFISH 6 Presentation Guidance.” They are also located here.

Q: Will I need a laptop to present from?
A: No, these will be provided by FAO.

Q: Will markers, flip-charts and post-its, be provided in the rooms?
A: Yes, these will be provided. Participants will also be provided with a notebook and pen.

Q: How do I find the location and time of my presentation?
A: View the IFISH6 Conference Program here; the infographic below shows you where to find the location information on the online program, and the grey boxes to the left provide information on the time slots.

Q: What should I do when I arrive at FAO?
A: Please see entry procedures here; bring your passport to FAO. You will need this to get in the building. Once you have arrived you can go to the registration desk located at the main entrance of FAO.

Q: Is there a place to purchase meals and or coffee at the FAO?
A: FAO will provide coffee, assorted croissants, and mini sandwiches during coffee breaks (twice a day). In addition FAO has four cafés, a cafeteria and a restaurant that will be available to attendees (see the section marked “Food Service” here. There are also plenty of restaurants, takeaway pizza places, cafés, etc., outside FAO.

Q: What if I have additional questions?
A: Please contact us here. Inquiries sent after 12/21/23 will be delayed because of the holidays and final detail planning for the conference.
